FTTH has become the ideal solution for the fiber access network processing, it is not only to comply with the growth of fiber optic technology requirements, but also with the high-speed, high-capacity signal transmission requirements. In FTTH access engineering, the conventional indoor cable mechanical bending and tensile function cannot meet the demand of FTTH indoor wiring, users need a high tension, strong and flexible FTTH patch cable. we have various type of FTTH fiber optic patch cables, custom made, pre-built with optional SC/LC/FC/ST/E-2000/MU, etc. connectors. Jacket materials and colors, diameters can be also custom made.

FTTH Fiber Patch Cable Features

The low bending radius, high-strength FTTH bend insensitive fiber cable, are widely used in FTTH access network. The FTTH patch cable is basically made by the factory to pre-terminated with connectors, when arrived at the scene it can be directly laid, and each product is with a serial number, which make it easier for installation and for the future maintenance.

  • Fiber Optic Patch Cords Specifications (compliant with Telcordia and IEC standard):
  • Types: single mode, multi mode
  • Insertion Loss (dB): ≤ 0.2 (UPC)
  • Exchangeability: ≤ 0.2 dB
  • Tensile Strength: ≤ 0.2 dB ( 0 to15 Kgf )
  • Temp. Range: (- 40 to +80 degree centigrade)

With the continuous demand of higher bandwidth, copper cables are reaching their limit to do the job. FTTH (Fiber to the Home) networks are expected to replace the copper networks more and more. The bend-insensitive cable is less attenuation compared with traditional fiber cables and this will make the installation and maintenance of the fiber optic cables more efficient. In FTTH networks, people require the fiber optic cables to be bend-insensitive, so that it is easier to deploy in the house, such as at the angled points inside the rooms along the walls.Another benefit we can get from bending insensitive fiber cables is they are space saving, this is also the trend of future fiber optic network – smaller, denser and more efficient. Many companies are able to provide the bend insensitive fiber optic cables before the official standard ITU-T-G657 was made.

Fiber optic patch cords are important components used in the fiber networks for linking the various kinds of equipment.bend insensitive fiber optic cable are optimized for enhanced low micro-bending sensitivity compared to the regular SMF fiber patch cable. The bending insensitive single mode fiber cable is with two attractive features: low intrinsic attenuation and excellent low macro-bending sensitivity. They offer high resistance to additional losses due to low macro-bending induced loss in the long wavelength region. This bend insensitive fiber patch cord allow for easy installation without excessive care when storing the fiber in splicing cassette. The bend insensitive patch cord support installation with small cable bending radius and compact organizers. The bend insensitive fiber optic patch cord are compliant to ITU-T G657 standards.

9/125 fiber optic cables are typical type single mode fiber cables. It is widely used in outdoor cables that are usually used as backbones in the fiber optic network, and it also is used in indoor cables like patch cord assemblies. Here the measurement unit of the 9 and 125 is μm (micron), one meter is equal to one million micron. So you can imagine how small the 9/125 optical fiber is, it is much smaller in diameter than human hair.

As you may have noticed, outdoor 9/125 single mode fiber cables is rather big diameter, while the indoor 9/125 singlemode fiber is smaller diameter, but they are both 9/125 type cables. Here we would like to give a picture to illustrate what the “9” and “125” means.

Above picture is a simple model of the commonly used 9/125 single mode fiber cable. We can see there are three layers of the cable. The 9 micron part refer to the center layer of the optical fiber, its diameter is 9micron. The 125 part is center layer together with the cladding layer; their total diameter is 125micron. Then there are other materials like strength unit surround them, and then the jacket of the cable. you can understand easily why different out shape cables can all be with 9/125 single mode fibers.

LSZH sometimes is also called LSOH, whether it is a “Z” or an “O” in the name, it stand for the same word “zero”. The full name of LSZH is Low Smoke Zero Halogen. We supply a wide range of LSZH fiber optic cables and LSZH fiber optic patch cords.

LSZH fiber optic patch cord inner structure is just like common fiber optic cables, and the function and technique parameter is also similar, the difference is the jackets, LSZH fiber optic jackets is more fire-resistant compared with common PVC jacketed cables, even when they are caught in fire, the burned LSZH cables provide low smoke and no halogen substances, this feature is not only environment protective but the low smoke when it got burned is also important to people and facilities in the fired place.

LSZH fiber optic cables and LSZH fiber optic patch cords are required for the Rosh compliant cable assemblies, but Rosh standard is more strict besides it require the cables to be LSZH type. LSZH fiber optic patch cables are used widely used in high buildings, airports, libraries, etc where expensive equipment would be damaged if exposed to corrosive gases, and they are also used in crowded areas like commercial centers and sports centers. We are manufacturer and supplier of the LSZH fiber optic patch cables.
